Delhi
Delhi, the capital of India is one of the fastest growing cities in the world. This 5000- years-old city has been the capital of several ancient dynasties. History says that Delhi has been destroyed and rebuilt seven times. The city actually consists of two parts - New Delhi and Old Delhi. New Delhi, the imperial city created by the British is a spacious open city and houses many embassies, shopping complexes and government buildings. Apart from its historic importance, New Delhi is also a major travel gateway. Delhi or Old Delhi was the capital of Muslim rules between the 12th and 19th centuries. In Old Delhi is home to many mosques, monuments and forts relating to India's Muslim history. Delhi is dotted with a number of tourist attractions that include Red Fort, Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Raj Ghat, Old Fort and Jantar Mantar.
Agra
Agra popularly known as the 'City of Taj' was the capital of India at the time of Mughals between the 16th and 17th centuries. The city houses many fantastic monuments date from the Mughal period. Situated on the banks of the river Yamuna, Agra is much like any other North Indian city. The old part of the town is located north of the fort, where the Kinari Bazaar is the main market place. The cantonment area is the modern part of the town which is situated to the south of the fort. Sadar Bazaar is the main market area in the modern part. In the Mall area you will find handicrafts shops, restaurants and several moderately priced hotels. Taj Mahal is the main attraction of Agra, other attractions are Agra Fort, Akbar's Mausoleum, Itmad-ud-daulah tomb etc.
Jaipur
Jaipur
the capital of Rajasthan is also called the 'pink city' of India due its
pink coloured buildings. The city owes its name and its foundation to the
great warrior-astronomer Maharaja Jai Singh II. Jaipur is situated in a
desert-like landscape surrounded by rugged hills. The old walled city of
Jaipur is situated in the north-eastern part while the new parts have spread
away to the south and west. Johari Bazaar or the Jeweller's market is the
main shopping centre in the old city. The old city is encircled by a
crenellated wall with seven gates. Jaipur is an extremely colourful city- in
the evening light, the pink buildings have a magical glow. Tourist
attractions of Jaipur include the City Palace, Jantar Mantar, Amber Fort,
Hawa Mahal, Central Museum etc.
