About Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary
Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary is on the old road of Delhi-Jaipur, at a distance of 107 kms from Jaipur and 200 kms from Delhi. Situated amidst the rugged hills and narrow valley of Aravalli ranges, Sariska boasts of a scenic atmosphere.

Inhabitants
of the ParkAnimal Species : The park houses a number of animal species - Tiger, Leopard, Hyena, Jackal, Wild Dog, Wild Boar, Jungle Cat, Sambar, Rhesus Monkeys, Chausingha, Chinkara, Four-Horned Antelope, Chital, Nilgai, Langur, Civet etc. One can see the crocodiles in the nearby Siliserh Lake.
Avian Species : Avian species found in the park are - Pewfowl, Golden-Backed woodpeckers, White-breasted kingfishers, Tree Pie, Wood Pecker, Crested Serpent Eagle, Great Indian Horned Owl, Bush Quail, Peafowl, Grey Partridge and Sand Grouse.

Kankwari Fort : Situated on the hilltop, the Kankwari Fort provides an excellent view of the avian species such as flying Egyptian vultures and eagles. Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb imprisoned his brother elder brother Dara Sikoh at this fort.
Ancient Shiva Temples : Built between the 6th -13th century the Shiva temples is a major attraction of Sariska. Today the temples are in ruins but they attract a large number of visitors.
Sariska Palace : Sariska Palace lies within the wildlife sanctuary. The palace was the royal reserve of Marahrajas of Alwar and is now operational as a hotel.

To DoJeep Safari : Jeep Safari is the best way to visit the Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary. Viewing the wildlife by Jeep Safari is a memorable experience. Jeep Safari is arranged by the Forest Reception Office on the Jaipur Road. Apart from wildlife watching, Jeep Safari also provides a good opportunity for wildlife photography.

By Rail : Nearest railhead is Alwar Railway station, which is located at a distance of 37 kms from Sariska. Trains for the important places of Rajasthan and other parts of India are available from here.
By Road : Sariska wildlife sanctuary is connected by National highway to Delhi and the cities of Rajasthan. Regular buses ply between Sariska and Alwar.
